Only in Kansas...

On Wednesday, Gavin, Griffin and I got to play 9 holes of golf with no coats on! It was a beautiful afternoon with no wind and we were all excited to get back into the swing of things...literally! Ha! When I woke up this morning reality hit...it really is February in Kansas! We have a (small) chance of snow this evening which doesn't seem possible! Bring the heat, I want to wear flip-flops again!

Get Well Soon Mom!

Hope you are feeling better, Mom!! You will be back to normal soon and I can't wait. I found this picture on my cell phone of our dramatic horse-race victory and thought it would cheer you up. Maybe if I get off the tee box this year, your job will be easier.

Say it isn't so...

This photo is a picture of my office, and that silver contraption is an "antique" radio/television. It has been in here for as long as I can remember my Mom working here at Countryside. It has an antenna and it gets Channel 7 and that is it...so everyday at 11am I turn it on and either watch or listen to the Young and the Restless. You can't get both a picture and sound so you have to pick whatever you think will most beneficial to the story line. This has saved me waisting my precious time tivoing it and watching it in the evening. HOWEVER...this will all change tomorrow as the tv signal becomes digital. I am so sad that my ritual is over and this fine piece of machinery will become obsolete.

Happy Valentine's Day 3A!

Here is some (cell phone) pics from Gavin's party at school. I helped out this year and the kids had a blast. Gavin was the first one to get a BINGO and got his first choice of prizes for the second year in a row. (I am beginning to think he has the "Papa Van luck" who seems to win everything!)

Finally got the story...

Grandma Vada finally called me and told me the whole story. I won't give all the details but it does involve a speeding ticket in a school zone, as well as a fib about the age of one of her great grandchildren who should have been in a booster seat. I am so glad they didn't have to witness you going to jail Grandma!! How dare the Ness City Police give you a ticket??!!

Still Waiting Grandma!!

Still haven't heard from Grandma Vada but will not quit until I do. Do I need to call Jacob and Abby to get the details??!! I am sure they will tell me...

Spill it Grandma Vada!!!

I just heard that Grandma Vada has a story to tell about an incident picking up her two great grandchildren from school yesterday!! The person wouldn't give up the details but Grandma Vada has a history of driving a little too fast!! My cousin Amy has a story about Grandma bribing her to keep quiet about a speeding ticket! Love ya Grandma but spill it...we want to hear the story.

Oh What A Night...

I have been on the Pound Plunge for over a month and have been such a good girl! I have lost 10 pounds and have kept my eating in check. That was until this weekend. There were many Bud Light Limes, some cosmos, all the bread on the table, beef stuffed raviolis, and you can't forget the "fifth meal" at IHOP. I had one of everything...and I have foggy memories of Tim ordering an appetizer platter that included everything deep fat fried they make. I made sure I captured each "happy plate" so I had work-out motivation this week. Good Times make for scary weigh-ins!!!

Parents Night Out in Salina...

Needing a little R & R, a group of 12 friends from Hays headed to Salina. We ate at Martinelli's, had a few drinks and then went to the comedy show featuring Brian Regan. He is one of Chris and I's all time favorites and he was hilarious!!! He had all new material and I was crying by the end. It was so much fun to get to hang out with everyone. The evening was full of laughs...but only some of them were from the comedian. After the show we all went back to the hotel where more craziness ensued. I will save that and our trip to IHOP for a different post.

Another One Bites the Dust!

Gavin was complaining last night that his throat hurt but was still in good spirits after the Steelers won the Super Bowl (he was the only one cheering for Pittsburg). He woke up this morning really complaining...even more than the usual Monday morning. I took him to the doctor and it is STREP throat!! How many more days until Griffin gets it??!! They should sell antibiotics over the counter! I thought we were going to have a drama free week??!! Maybe next week...
