Go Team!

Gavin had his first organized basketball game today and he played awesome! Thank goodness he didn't get his athletic skills from his mother...I might have something to do with the aggressiveness though. A fellow classmate's mom (and former high school coach) decided to get a 3rd grade team together from Holy Family and put together some games to play. As you can see, she got a great response...there are 13 on the team. Today we played a 4th grade Hays rec team and lost by 4 in overtime. It was great fun and the boys learned a lot. Gavin always says that football is "his sport" but he might be changing his mind.

A Day for Change

What a day for America! I welcome change in our country and hope Obama is ready to take on all the challenges ahead. His little girls looked so cute standing by their father. It will be interesting watching the new first family grow. God Bless America!

Movin' on up!!

Here are Marcus and Gavin with Raheem Morris, the new HEAD COACH of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!! He was KSU's defensive coordinator under Prince a few years ago. He was such a nice guy! His sideline language was...well, um, colorful?! We used to say he could use the word f&*% as a noun, verb, pronoun, adjective, etc. We sit in Row 1 so the kids often had their "earmuffs" on during some of his discussions with the defense on the sidelines. I am excited to have another NFL team to cheer for! Go Bucs!

Beach Dreamers

Our Pound Plunge team kicked butt at our first weigh-in losing a total of 12 lbs!! Way to go team! I guess that makes all the soreness worth it. Now for the dreaded Week #2!!

Poor Chris...

Today Chris got all his wisdom teeth removed. It has been a long day for him but thank God for Percoset!! That seems to be working for now. Here is Dr. Amy checking out the open wounds. She deals with people's mouth/teeth all day...I am not so good at it. He did get some soup down so I hope tomorrow is a little better.

Quite a Wager! Go Cats!

My beloved Wildcats play the Dirtybirds on Tuesday in basketball. As is tradition in our office, the loser has to bring doughnuts to the winner. Well...there is an added twist this year. I am on a diet (see the evil below) and if the Wildcats win, we have all agreed I will get to eat a doughnut. I love doughnuts almost as much as I love the Wildcats...and that is a lot!!! I do not want to have to buy the doughnuts, and then watch everyone eat them! Please 'Cats...WIN!

Pure Evil

So I bought this 13 DVD set of workout videos in December thinking it was a great idea! Well after Day 5 I am rethinking my decision. I am shuffling around like an old lady and can barely shampoo my hair in the shower I am soooooooooooooo sore!!!!! It is a different kind of sore every day...you just never know what body part will fall apart next. I am sticking with it but it is quite a commitment. I am on a Pound Plunge team with Elodie, Amy and Val and I don't want to let them down. We are the "Beach Dreamers" and I would love to put a swimming suit on and not have stuff falling out (and I don't mean my boobs...ha). I keep telling myself...'I can do anything for 90 days'...but can I??

To my favorite girl in the whole world: I hope you have a wonderful day even though you have to go to school on your birthday! I am sure your Mom baked you some yummy treats today...or bought you some yummy treats to take to your class. I look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow.

One of our favorite former KSU players is doing some serious butt-kicking for the Chargers! It is nice to have someone to cheer for since KSU never made it to a bowl, and the Chiefs and Broncos have finished their seasons. We got all the kids Sproles jerseys for Christmas but they had the wrong logos on the front and Gavin's had Sproles spelled wrong so we had to send them back!! Something tells me after his game on Saturday...they will now know how to spell it! Let's hope the SI cover doesn't jinx him!

What's on the computer? Our new workout dvds! As you can see below...we were all enjoying watching them as we all stuffed our faces. We still have time to pack on the pounds before Pound Plunge starts!

Just seeing what we are in for on January 8th...looks like a lot of pain.

Kids having fun!

It seems like the last month has been full of fun, food, family and friends and last night was no different. The Drees', Speno's, and Wente's came over for dinner and plenty of drinks. We had so much fun watching my new PX90 workout videos while we ate. Next week will be back to reality...5 days of work in a row...Ahhhhh!

We rang in the new year at Precision Valley with Chad doing the entertaining. It was the perfect crowd and we had a blast. I think before the night was over almost everyone sang something, but Chris and Chan really got some quality mic time! Thank you Chad for making New Years memorable!
