Every Boy's Dream

We have passed by a hundred Build-A-Bear Workshops in Gavin's 10 years of life and his mean mom would never let him go in and make a bear...knowing it will end up in the goodwill pile within a week...and it would end up costing me a hundred bucks when it was all said and done. Well, this weekend in Branson, they had a store called RideMakerz. It is basically Build-A-Bear only instead of stuffed animals, you are making a remote control car. Gavin was in HEAVEN!! He got to pick out the body style, tires, rims, motor, pipes, spoiler...the list is endless. Then they let you put it all together, make a personalized license plate, and give you a title. He had a blast! Here is his finished product! Thank goodness there isn't one of these close to Hays...I am sure it is only a matter of time.

Happy Birthday Big Sista!!

I will have a drink for you tonight!! Hope you have a great day...if that is possible with a room full of 5 year olds!

Griffin's First Day of Preschool

He insisted on carrying his backpack which was heavy from the 2 reams of paper...
He got to sit next to his friend Peyton who used to attend my daycare!

He also got to sit by Madi, whose Mom Jill has been one of my best friends my whole life! I can't believe our babies are old enough to go to school together.
I assumed there would be tears...not from Griffin, but from me. I held it together! He was so excited when he got out he couldn't wait to go back. Next week starts their full time schedule with uniforms so I hope he continues to enjoy it as much as he did today!

Slip and Slide...

The G's~Griffin, Giana and Gavin
The slide at Big Cedar Lodge catches you by surprise, it looks harmless but packs a punch! Here are a few dramatic exits by the boys.

Silver Dollar City

Here is Gavin being launched on the PowderKeg ride. From 0 to 60 in 2.3 seconds!
Griffin milking the cow...he wasn't interested in the milk since it wasn't chocolate.

We had a blast at Silver Dollar City yesterday! There were no lines...since most kids are in school except for the crazy parents who take their kids out of school on the 3rd day for vacation! It was perfect weather too! We can't wait to go back again.

Happy 12th Birthday Marcus!

I can't believe my one and only nephew is 12!!!!!! I will never forget babysitting him when he was a baby and Renae forgot to leave me a binky...a few long hours of bonding with his aunt! I can't believe you are in middle school and talking about school dances...it just can't be possible! Love ya Marcus aka Ski Boats!

First Day of 4th Grade

I was attempting to get them to put 4 fingers up since Gavin is in the 4th grade and Griff turned 4 that day...but as you can see, I had little cooperation!! We are still adjusting to the early mornings!
Here is Gavin TOTALLY embarrassed that Chris and I walked him into his classroom and took pictures of him at his desk. He seems to really like his teacher and has lots of friends in his class.

There Goes the Neighborhood!

A family came by today offering to paint our address on our curb and had a variety of options to paint next to the numbers. We of course chose a powercat as did a few others. A few neighbors were out of town, and since we all are pretty close friends...we called and asked if they wanted theirs painted as well. We "took orders" and paid for their numbers. Well, another neighbor (who happened to the builder for almost every house on our block) decided to play a little prank on one couple. Our KU alumni neighbors with a jayhawk flag out front now has a powercat on their curb!! They are going to FREAK when they get home but I think it is hilarious!!!!!!! (He did make arrangements to have it painted over after they get back.) Can't wait to see their reactions!

Small Town Fun

Open Wide!
My FAVORITE parade entry...The Ness County "Loose Screws" Marching Band! It was so hilarious!

Papa Van, Griffin and Gavin waiting for the parade to start...I can tell because there isn't candy all over the street!
My cousin Dusty, his girlfriend Kayla doing their best Jethro and Ellie May Clampet!
Today was the annual Bazine Picnic and we took my Grandma Sibyl who recently moved to assisted living in Hays back to Bazine for some fun. There was a parade with more candy than I have ever seen in my life!! The kids filled up an entire bag...so much they got tired of picking it up! (Such spoiled kids!) Some of the entries were very creative! We had to leave before most of the games started but had time for some watermelon at the park.

Time to Order Uniforms?!

Here is one happy camper at school enrollment trying on uniforms! I can't believe it is that time of year again! The boys weren't thrilled with buying uniforms but both were thrilled with their teachers and friends in their class. Gavin has Mrs. Chris Dinkel...who I had in 4th grade too!! The summer countdown is on!

Happy 31st to ME!

We had dinner with some friends for my birthday and I had a blast. Everyone knows me SO well...as you can see in my gifts. I got lots of purple, sparkle and smelly stuff!! I loved it all...but the funniest is the bedazzled KSU golf hat. If I don't play good on the course...at least I will look cute! I have lots of new bling to wear too. I am so grateful for everyone who came to have dinner with me!!
