Happy June 29th!?!

Gavin and Kyler...Dangerous!! (Gavin is 7 months older than Kyler...couldn't tell by looking at their height!)

~~Sparklers~~
Okay...it is not July 4th yet but the boys couldn't wait! (And by boys I mean the Dads, HA!) We had a 'leftover' box from last year and we had to blow some up to get in the mood for the rest of the weekend! Most all fireworks are legal in Hays this year so there are Fireworks stands on every corner. This makes it hard to go anywhere with the kids without them begging to buy some. Sounds like we will have an action packed weekend!

To Aunt Nae~

Do you miss me yet?

Gavin wearing a Rockies hat?
Chris, his Dad and the boys took a quick trip to Denver for the Rockies v Red Sox game last week. It was Griffin's first major league baseball game and they had a lot of fun. Gavin was unsure of who to cheer from judging by his hat changes!

Me and my two nieces Hannah and Giana!! For all of you out there who are waiting on me to have a girl...I don't need one! I have these two!! They are adorable!

Fun with Friends

Here is a picture from Griffin's babysitter Val. The kids were "fishing" this morning in the backyard! TOO cute! I just love summer!

KSU Basketball Camp

Championship Game~The roommates face off!
Gavin getting his plaque from Coach Martin
Gavin being a good big brother and helping Griffin get autographs from Jacob Pullen and the team
Gavin had a great time and is already making plans to go back next year. I loved that he was telling me where to go when we were driving through campus! He will now need to sleep for the next 2 days to make up for what he lost all week!

Sunset Zoo

Look at the BABY?! Sooooo cute!

We found the real meaning of "shake your tail feather!" When you got close to him...he shook his feathers and it sounded like a rattle snake. It was freaky!

Penny Smasher for our collection
Renae, Hannah, Griffin and I had a couple of hours to kill when we picked up Gavin from basketball camp so we went to the Manhattan Zoo. I hadn't been there since our family moved from there in 1983! Renae goes every year with her class so she made a wonderful tour guide. We got to hear her SAD story (AGAIN) of how she got bit by an otter at the zoo when she was little. lol! The scene of the crime below:
Notice she is keeping her hands out of the cage this time! The weather and the zoo were beautiful. It was the perfect size for Griff...he walked the whole way without asking to be carried, yeah!

We were then off to Aggieville for some lunch at So Long Saloon, yummy!

Dance!

Do we coordinate or what?!
Saturday I drove from Ness City to Abilene (then back to Salina) to watch Hannah's dance recital. She was spectacular! She is way more coordinated than her Mom was (HA,HA!) and very graceful! She knew every move and performed them with a great big smile on her face! What a cutie! I only got a pic with her one costume but her other 2 were adorable too.

Old Settlers Reunion

Grandma Vada, Cousin Amy, Mom, and Aunts Peggy, Diane and Mary
CHEERS!
The Coolest Grandpa in the world! Can you believe he is 80?!
Later in the night...Diane and Peggy havin' some fun!
Here is Diane describing to John how she cussed out the little punk who didn't want her to use the port-a-potty in his front yard?! LMAO!
Old Settler's only comes around every 5 years and there is a reason for that!! We had so much fun! Thursday started off with a parade (but I forgot my camera) and Ness knows how to throw a parade!! It lasted over 2 hours and we ended up with 2 bags full of loot including: 22 frisbees, 11 coozies, 19 pens/pencils, 11 key chains that either light up or open beer or both, 5 coin purses, 6 footballs, a piggy bank, 2 tire pressure guages, 2 letter openers, 2 slinkies, 2 roses, 6 bottles of water, more candy than anyone could eat in a year and last but not least a bag full of shredded dollar bills, $165 to be exact! The kids were so tired of picking things up off the street! The special guest of Willie the Wildcat was the hit of the parade for my kids! We took the kids to the carnival and toured the historic bank building with Grandpa Earl as well.
Friday night was a country band and they played all the good songs that we love to sing to. Needless to say a good time was had by all and we wished Ness City had an IHOP by the end of the night! I was glad I couldn't go to the concert on Saturday...partying with those old people wears me out!! LOL!

My Baby's Off to College...

...Well for the next few days anyway!! He is attending the Frank Martin basketball camp this week and he couldn't wait! He is rooming with a friend from school and his two good friends are right next to him. He called last night (after I was asleep) around eleven and said they were back in their rooms and were ready for bed. They had to get up at 6am so they needed to get some rest. Gavin has already talked to Jacob Pullen about giving him a pair of his shoes out of his HUGE shoe collection?! LOL! I can't wait to hear more stories as the week goes on.
**UPDATE**Just heard from him at lunch. He said he slept against the wall all night because he was nervous he would roll off that high bed of his, HA!
