Serious Pool Time

During Spring Break, all the kids could think about is swimming. No matter indoor or outdoor pool, cold or warm weather, night or day. The JW Marriott had a HUGE pool, winding all over the property with a lazy river a few big slides and a few small ones. The best part was the bath-tub warm water!! We spent as much time as possible in the pool and boy do I miss it. Is it summer yet?

Riverwalk

On a rainy day we went to the Riverwalk and took a little cruise. We ate and had a mariachi band play for us which the kids got a kick out of. It was a pretty cool day but that didn't stop the kids from getting in the pool when we got back to the hotel. The water was WARM but getting back to the room wasn't!!

Welcome to Gruene Texas!

After a day of shopping, golfing, and hanging out at the pool we headed to a restaurant that Chris found online. It turned out to be the coolest place ever! It was a converted cotton gin and it was amazing. The entire little town seemed like it hadn't been touched in 100 years. It was so neat we went back in the morning to look around a little more. There were all sorts of little shops, bed and breakfasts, a famous saloon, winery, etc.

San Antonio Day 1

We drove from Hays to San Antonio, 13 hours straight last Sunday. The night before KSU got there butts kicked by the Jayhawks for the 3rd time in one year so we got a kick out of this sign...Got Dirtybirds? We definitely needed a birdbath in the Big 12 Championship!! We met Mom and Dad and the Willeys and a Mexican restaurant when we got there for some much needed margaritas!

HE DID IT!!

Last week before Spring Break the boys had a Holy Family PE Program where they performed games they learn during class. Griffin has had a couple bouts of stage fright so we weren't sure if he would actually perform or not. The day of rehearsal he said he 'got nervous and cried a little.' I bribed him with McDonalds and it worked. HE DID IT, no tears! He even did the actions! His preschool class performed the Limbo. It was so cute. Gavin's class played a game from another country and I didn't understand the rules...but he did great too.

Hoopster Victory

Both teams hanging out together before the game.

Last weekend was the Hoopsters last tourney for the season and we finally came out victorious. There are so many on the team that we split into two teams...and we had to play each other for the championship!! Even though we were wearing different colored jerseys, it was hard for the kids to figure out who to pass it to since they play together all the time. After a few turnovers for both sides, they got the hang of it. It was fun to cheer for both sides at once.

In honor of the Sunflower Showdown...

An A-?! What could have possibly been counted wrong?

This is Gavin's Kansas Day packet that they were required to fill out. The teacher pulled me aside one day at school laughing and showed it to me. He had a few difficulties completing it.
The answer to two of the above questions was 'jayhawk', he scribbled one and wrote the other one so small you couldn't read it.
WOW...What a beautiful colored picture!
UhOh! This one didn't get colored? He pleaded with the teacher to let him color it a different color but the instructions on the upper right hand corner made it clear. He decided to take a lower grade than finish it. His teacher said he was the only one despite over half of his class being Wildcats. I couldn't have been prouder for him standing up for what he believes. That is one dirty bird, LOL! EMAW!
