KSU Spring Game

From Clay Center we went straight to Manhattan (setting a record for number of pee breaks in 39 miles...thank goodness I have boys who can go on the side of the road.) for the spring game. We missed all the fun stuff...Luke Bryant concert, KSU garage sale, carnival, etc. but we made it for the actual game. Griffin was confused....after a few minutes he realized both teams were KSU??!! The most exciting part of the game was the Spiderman popcicle, with gumball eyes!!

Run Gavin, Run!

We spent Saturday in Clay Center at Gavin's first track meet. He joined the Hays Striders a couple of weeks ago and has really enjoyed it. This was our first meet and we learned a lot. There were a lot of big teams there but he kept up with them. He did well in the long jump and the 100m but kicked butt in the 200m. I have no pictures of actual running because I videoed them for Chris who had to work. They will have to watched on mute due to my screaming!! Griffin spent the day in the "sand trap" and I was happy he found an activity that kept him occupied for 5+hours!

Okay...Okay...

I haven't posted in a week because I have been so busy! We had an open house at work this weekend and had a house to get ready in four days. That's cleaned, painted, re-cleaned, decorated, and cleaned again. Here are some pics of the new house. The open house was a great success and we had a lot of new customers in. Let's hope this week is more relaxing.

Double Take...

Our friend Karsten came over to play today and just happened to be wearing the same thing as Griff! They were so cute and had such a blast playing outside.

More Easter Decorating...

As is tradition we decorated Easter eggs with Amy and friends last night. This tradition started 8 years ago while visiting Papa Van and GG at their house in Denver. Gavin was a baby...but Amy and I thought it would be fun to dye Easter eggs. And it has snowballed from there...last night we had dye, sharpies, glitter, beads, paper mache, tattoos, stickers, glue, and that was just the beginning!! Everyone was laughing at the "craft teacher" and all her students! Griffin was so excited to "dive" the eggs and actually outlasted all the other kids. He concentrated hard...notice his tongue is out in every picture. He says he was the winner and wondered what his prize was because he did the most?! Amy and Gavin had a great silver egg that ended up with purple KSU details...very creative!

Perfect Poem...

Gavin's assignment at school was to write a poem about a color. He brought this home and I cried it was so perfect!! He said he thought of game day...our family's favorite activity. It is so fitting since we usually stay the night before a game and watch the sunrise...(it is inevitable even though we try to sleep in, all of us in the RV makes for tight living quarters...the kids are usually so excited to start tailgating that the first sign of morning means everyone is up!) The marker line is hilarious because I make a sign for every game and lately (since I don't work for Dad anymore, sign making can't be done at work!) I have been making them in the RV and everyone complains about the permanent marker smell. Way to go Gavin, your Mom thinks your the greatest poet ever!

Happy April Fool's Day!

It was party time at Jan's last night as she hosted a ladies night in celebration of her feeling better. There was a HUGE turn out and boy are we loud when we all get together, ha! We had all sorts of good food thanks to some very helpful friends, and good beverages too. (Just a slight headache today...boy that punch was good ;) Dad also was a great bartender!) It was great to see everyone and Mom appreciated everyone coming over.
